World Mental Health Day 2022

Introduction – World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on October 10 for drawing attention in mental health issues and their effects among common people across the world. The main aim of this international day is to spread awareness about mental health issues and mobilize efforts in support of mental health worldwide. As per the World Health Organization (WHO), a 25 percent increase in the prevalence of depression and anxiety across the world due to Covid-19.

History – Firstly, World Mental Health Day is celebrated on October 10, 1982, as the last activity of the World Federation for mental health. This international day aims to educate about the importance of mental health among common people across the world.

Theme – The theme of World Mental Health Day in the year 2022 is “Make mental health & well-being for all a global priority” which concentrates on mental health issues as a priority across the world.   The main aim of this international day is to spread awareness about mental health among people worldwide

Significance – World Mental Health is celebrated every year on October 10 to spread awareness about mental health and promote mental health services. The Covid-19 pandemic enhances rapidly the cases of mental disorders among common people across the world. In a covid pandemic, thousands of jobs are reduced, financial crises, death of loved ones, and many more may affect the mental health of people. Enhanced mental disorders or severe depression may enhance the case of suicides across the world. This international day provides an opportunity to come together for mental disorder issues which affect the lives of common people and make sure people can enjoy good mental health.
