It’s a very great news for our country that Indian weightlifter, Vikas Thakur won the 11th medal for India in the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. He won the silver medal in the men’s 96kg weightlifting with a total lift of 346kg (155kg + 191kg) in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022.

Firstly, Vikas Thakur lifted a 149kg snatch in the first attempt in the men’s 96kg weightlifting. In the second attempt, Vikas lifted a 153kg snatch and later he lifted a 155kg snatch in the third attempt.

In the clean and jerk, Vikas started with a lift of 187kg in the first attempt. Later he lifted 191kg in clean and jerk in the second attempt. But in the third attempt, he failed to lift 198kg and won the silver medal with a total lift of 346kg (155kg + 191kg) at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham.
