It’s a great news for our country that Indian weightlifter, Gururaja Poojary won a bronze medal in the men’s 61kg category at the Commonwealth Games 2022 with a lift of 269 kg (118 + 151kg). He won a second medal for India in the commonwealth games 2022.

Previously, Gururaja won the silver medal in the men’s 56kg category in the commonwealth games 2018 in Gold Coast, Australia. He belongs to Udupi in the state of Karnataka and trains at the National Institute of Sports in Patiala.
