Kargil Vijay Divas is celebrated annually on July 26 to honor the heroes of the Kargil War in the year 1999. This day is observed all over the country and in New Delhi where the Prime Minister of India pays tribute to the soldiers at Amar Jawan Jyoti every year at India Gate.

Kargil Vijay Divas is the celebration of India’s historic win against Pakistan on July 26, 1999. On this day, the nation remembered those soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our country. There are several events are organized for remembering the contributions of the armed forces in the Kargil War.

 

Earlier, the Kargil War was fought for more than 60 days that ended on July 26, 1999. The Kargil war started when the Pakistani army took advantage of melting snow and try to capture high outposts of Kargil, in India. So, Kargil Vijay Divas will be celebrated every year on July 26 to honor the heroes of the Kargil War.
