World Youth Skills Day 2022

Introduction – World Youth Skills Day is celebrated every year on July 15 to highlight the abilities and skills of youngsters across the world. This day provides an opportunity to enhance skills and discussions about the importance of technical or non-technical skills. Presently, several technical or non-technical skills are provided by companies for youths to improve their resume and get a job easily with exciting salaries.

Youths are the most active section of any population with an optimistic worldview across the world. Now they play an important in the development of their countries. But due to Covid-19 youngsters faces a very difficult situation because of an increase in unemployment and the competitive examinations for government jobs are cancelled. Thus, skill development is very important for your great career and is the best way to get a good job in a big company with better job security.

History – The United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution on December 18, 2014, and announced that World Youth Skill Day is celebrated annually on July 15 across the world. Firstly, several countries celebrated World Youth Skills Day on July 15, 2015. The main purpose of this global day is to spread awareness of problems or challenges that youth are facing in their professional life because of a lack of skills. If youngsters acquire skills, then it will improve their ability or skill and get their job easily with a high package.

Theme – The theme of World Youth Skill Day in the year 2022 is “Transforming youth skills for the future’’ which marks to gain or enhance knowledge or skill for the best future.

Significance – World Youth Skills Day provides an opportunity between TVET (Technical and vocational education and training), employers, policymakers, skilled youth, and workers on the same platform. It also highlights the significance of equipping youngsters with knowledge or skills for decent work, entrepreneurship, and employment. This international day plays a significant role to spread the message for youngsters to become skilled in any particular field for getting a better job and also become entrepreneurs. The United Nations requested its member countries to provide technical and vocational skills to youths for decent work, employment, and entrepreneurship.
