Introduction – World Environment Day is observed annually on June 5 across the world to mark the importance of nature and spread awareness for the protection of green nature. The main purpose of this global day is to protect or increase the number of trees and plants that makes green nature or the environment. The environment is very important in maintaining living things healthy that provide pure air, food, fruits, water, and many more which fulfills the needs of all humans all around the world.

History – This global day is one of the main annual events that is organized by the United Nations to raise awareness about the importance of green nature. In past, the United Nations recognized World Environment Day in the year 1972, which was the first day of the Stockholm Conference on the human environment.

Theme – The theme of World Environment Day in the year 2022 is ‘’Only One Earth’’ which is a campaign to focus on increasing green trees and maintaining green nature.

Significance – Green nature or the environment plays an important role in maintaining greenery by planting thousands of trees that make a green environment.  People should also conserve forests by not killing innocent forests and planting green trees that are good for the healthy environment. This global day also concentrates to save water by avoiding waste of water. We should also reduce pollution to save or protect the environment. If people damage or harm the environment then it may threaten the life on the planet.
