Durga Puja is a ten-day celebration annually in which last five are significance that originating in the Indian subcontinent and pays respect to the goddess Maa Durga. This festival is celebrating due to the victory of good over evil as goddess Maa Durga killed demon king Mahishasur.


This festival holds great significance for the Bengali community but it is also celebrated in several states such as Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Tripura.


In the year 2021, Durga Puja celebrations will end on October 15 as Vijay Dashmi. Vijay Dashmi or Dussehra marks the end of Durga Puja and the nine-day Navaratri celebrations on October 15 and also marks the triumph of Goddess Durga over the demon king Mahishasura.
