This day marks the unity and profession of the physiotherapy community all around the world. This year, World Physical Therapy Day concentrates on rehabilitation and long COVID-19. The Physical therapist plays an important role in the treatment and management of people affected by Long COVID.

In the year 1996, World Therapy Day was declared to celebrate on September 8 because it is the date of establishment of World Physiotherapy in the year 1951. This day appreciation the work of physiotherapists throughout the world do work or treatment for their patients and their society.
History – World Confederation of Physiotherapy (WCPT) has announced that World Therapy Day is observed on September 8 annually in the year 1996. WCPT was established on September 8, 1951, so this date is celebrated as World Therapy Day all over the world. The main purpose of this day is to raise awareness about the important role of physiotherapists that play in keeping people fit and well. This day provides an opportunity to thank them for the chronic pain therapies done by them and their contribution to the medical field.

Theme – The theme of World Physical Therapy Day 2021 is ‘’Rehabilitation and Long COVID-19’’ that concentrated on the previous year’s theme. Physiotherapist plays an important role in the Covid-19 pandemic for the protection of the health and security of common people throughout the world.
