Mariyappan Thangavelu wins the Silver Medal in the Tokyo Paralympics 2020

It’s a proud moment for our country that Mariyappan Thangavelu wins a silver medal at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020. He wins a silver medal in the men’s high jump T-42 event in the Paralympics games.

In this event, Mariyappan cleared 1.86m and won a silver medal at the Tokyo Paralympics games. In the Paralympic games, the T-42 classification is for athletes with an impaired passive range of movement in the legs, leg deficiency, and leg length difference.

In past, Mariyappan won the gold medal with a best jump of 1.89m at the Rio Paralympics 2016. Previously, he was suffered from a permanent disability in his right leg when it was crushed under a bus at an age of 5 years.

Paralympic 2021 Tamil Nadu Athlete Mariyappan Thangavelu Wins Silver Medal

He was honored by the Padma Shri award by the Government of India for his contribution towards sports on January 25, 2017. In the year 2017, he was also honored by Arjuna Award.

Mariyappan was also awarded with the Major Dhyan Chand Award Khel Ratna by the Government of India in the year 2020.

    For the first time in history I think India is the only country taking maximum medols from Tokyo Olympic . It like so proud moment for the INDIA . INDIA is taking Shower of ” MEDOLS ” . OMG
