Previously England won the toss and chose to bowl first thus, India first batted and scored 364/10 due to great batted by K.L. Rahul 129 (250), Rohit Sharma 83 (145), Virat Kohli 42 (103), Ravindra Jadeja 40 (120), and Rishabh Pant 37 (58). James Anderson 5/62 (29), Ollie Robinson 2/73 (33) bowled well from the England side.
In the first inning, England scored 391/10 due to great batted by Joe Root 180 (321) not out, Jonny Bairstow 57 (107), and Rory Burns 49 (136). Mohammad Siraj 4/94 (30), Ishant Sharma 3/69 (24), and Mohammad Shami 2/95 (26) bowled well from the India side. After the first inning, England leads by 27 against India.
During the second inning, there was a time when India was 209/8 and in danger of losing the match with England. Due to the great partnership of 89 runs for 9th wicket by Mohammad Shami 56 (70) not out, and Jaspirit Bumrah 34 (64) not out, India declared at 298/8 that turns the match and lead by 271 runs against England. Ajinkya Rahane 61 (146) also batted well from the Indian side. Mark Wood 3/51 (18), and Ollie Robinson 2/45 (17) bowled well from the England side.
In the second inning, England was all out at 120 runs and India won the second test match by 151 runs due to great bowled by Mohammad Siraj 4/32 (10.5), Jaspirit Bumrah 3/33 (15), Ishant Sharma 13/2 (10), and Mohammad Shami 1/13 (10) bowled well from the England side.
Due to the great performance in batting, K.L. Rahul 129 (250), declared as the Player of the Match in the second test match.
