Gyaneshwari Yadav won the historic silver medal in the women’s 53kg at the Commonwealth Games Glasgow 2026

It’s a proud moment for our country that Indian weightlifter, Gyaneshwari Yadav created history and won the silver medal in the women’s 53kg at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in the year 2026. After winning the silver medal, India won 5 medals including one gold medal, three silver medals, and one bronze medal in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in the year 2026.

Gyaneshwari Yadav was placed in the second position with the total lift of 199kg and won the historic silver medal in the women’s 53kg at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in the year 2026. Gyaneshwari Yadav lifted 88kg in snatch and 111kg in clean and jerk and a total lift of 199kg, placed in the second position, and won the historic silver medal in the women’s 53kg at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in the year 2026.

Onome Omolola Didih of Nigeria lifted 93kg in snatch and 113kg in clean and jerk and a total lift of 206kg, was placed in the first position, and won the gold medal while Rebeka Groulx of Canada won the bronze medal with a total lift of 178kg in the women’s 53kg at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in the year 2026.

Earlier, Gyaneshwari Yadav clinched the bronze medal in the Asian Championships in the year 2026 and won the gold medal in the Universal Weightlifting Cup in the year 2026.
