RIP Kamini Kaushal

It’s very heartbreaking, shocking, and sad news that Indian veteran actress, Kamini Kaushal died at the age of 98 on November 14, 2025 in the city of Mumbai, Maharashtra. Kamini Kaushal worked in several Bollywood movies and television serials and is considered as the best actress in Bollywood or Hindi cinema. She worked in several Bollywood movies such as Neecha Nagar (1946), Do Bhai (1947), Shaheed (1947), Nadiya Ke Paar (1948), Ziddi (1948), Arzoo (1950), Shahenshah (1952), Bade Sarkar (1957), Upkaar (1967), Do Raaste (1969), Roti Kapda Aur Makaan (1974), Gumrah (1993), Chennai Express (2013), and many more. The last appearance of Kamini Kaushal in the movie Lal Singh Chaddha, which was released in the year 2022.

Kamini Kaushal also worked in television serial and played the role of governess in the Hindi serial  Gharwali and Uparwali, which was telecasted in the most popular channel Star Plus in the year 2000. She also appeared in the television serial and played the role of Bebe, in the serial Shanno Ki Shadi, wh8ch was telecasted in the most popular channel, Star Plus in the year 2005.

Kamini Kaushal was born on February 24 in the year 1927 in Lahore, Pakistan, and was the youngest of three sisters and two brothers. Shiv Ram Kashyap was the father of Kamini Kaushal, who was the professor of Botany at the University of Punjab in the city of Lahore, British India but presently at Pakistan. The father of Kamini Kaushal, Professor Shiv Ram Kashyap is regarded as the father of Indian Botany who also discoveres 6 species of plants. When Prof Kashyap died on November 26, in the year 1934 then the age of Kamini Kaushal was only seven years old. She completed her graduation B.A. (honours) in English Literature from Government College in the city of Lahore. She started her career in the movie Neecha Nagar in the year 1946.

Kamini Kaushal received the Filmfare Award for best actress in the movie Biraj Bahu, in the year 1956. She also won the BFJA Awa rds for best supporting actress in the movie Shaheed in the year 1964. She also received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in the year 2015. She also won the Screen Award for Best Supporting Actress in the movie, Kabir Singh in the year 2020.
