Alfred Nobel was the third son of an inventor and engineer, Immanuel Nobel and Karolina Andriette Nobel. Karolina Andriette Nobel and Immanuel Nobel married in the year 1827 and had 8 children. Alfred Nobel also made many important contributions to science holding 355 patents in their whole life.

Alfred Nobel had many inventions such as a practical detonator in the year 1863, a blasting cap that was an improved form of the detonator in the year 1865, dynamite in the year 1867, blasting gelatin, a powerful form of dynamite in the year 1875, and ballistite in the year 1887. He was a bachelor and was never married in their whole lifetime.
