History – The United Nations General Assembly approved the resolution for influencing countries to fasten the progress of universal health coverage on December 12, 2012. After that, the United Nations announced in the year 2017 that Universal Health Coverage Day is celebrated annually on December 12 across the world.

Theme – The theme of Universal Health Coverage Day in the year 2023 is ‘’Health For All: Time for Action’’ which talks about taking specific actions that concentrate on health systems resilience across the world, especially in developing or poor countries.

Significance – The main goal of this global day is to review the progress of the healthcare system all over the world Thus, it is ensured that to help poor people with an accessible and free healthcare system across the world especially in poor or developing countries where medical facilities are not good.
