New Zealand won the first one-day match by 7 wickets with India

In the first one-day match, New Zealand won the match by 7 wickets with India due to a great partnership by Tom Latham 145* (104), and Kane Williamson 94* (98). After winning this match, New Zealand leads by (1-0) in the three one-day matches against India.

Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and chose to bowl first thus India first batted and made a huge score of 306/7 in 50 overs due to good batting by Shreyas Iyer 80 (76), Shikhar Dhawan 72 (77), Shubham Gill 50 (65), Washington Sundar 37 (16), and Sanju Samson 36 (38). Lockie Ferguson 3/59 (10), Tim Southee 3/73 (10), and Adam Milne 1/67 (10) were good bowling from the New Zealand side. After this inning, India set a huge target of 307 runs in 50 overs for New Zealand to win this match.

During chasing, New Zealand loses only 3 wickets, reached the target of 307 runs in 47.1 overs, and easily won the match by 7 wickets with India due to great batting by Tom Latham 145* (104), Kane Williamson 94* (98), and Devon Conway 24 (42). Both Umran Malik 2/66 (10), and Shardul Thakur 1/63 (9) were good bowling from the Indian side.

Tom Latham (NZ), 145* (104), was declared as the Player of the Match due to his great performance in batting.
