New Zealand won the match by 89 runs with Australia

In the first match of the Super 12 in the T20 World Cup 2022, New Zealand won the match by 89 runs with Australia due to great performance in batting and bowling. After winning this match, New Zealand was placed at the top position in Group 1 with 2 points and a better run rate.

Earlier, Australia won the toss and chose to bowl first thus New Zealand first batted and made a huge score of 200/3 in 20 overs due to great batting by Devon Conway 92* (58), Finn Allen 42 (16), and James Neesham 26* (13). Both Josh Hazelwood 2/41 (4) and Adam Zampa 1/39 (4) were good bowling from the Australian side. After this inning, New Zealand set a huge target of 201 runs in 20 overs for Australia to win this match.

During chasing, Australia was all out at only 111/10 in 17.1 overs and lose this match by 89 runs with New Zealand due to great bowling by Tim Southee 3/6 (2.1), Mitchell Santher 3/31 (4), Trent Boult 2/24 (4), Ish Sodhi 1/29 (4), and Lockie Ferguson 1/20 (3). Glenn Maxwell 28 (20), Pat Cummins 21 (18), and Mitchell Marsh 16 (12) were good batting from the Australian side.

Devon Conway (NZ), 92* (58), was declared as the Player of the Match due to his great performance in batting.
