England won the match by 5 wickets with Afghanistan

In the second match of Super 12 T20 World Cup 2022, England won the match by 5 wickets with Afghanistan due to great bowling by Sam Curran 5/10 (3.4). After winning this match, England was placed in the second position in Group 1 with 2 points.

Earlier, England won the toss and chose to bowl first thus Afghanistan first batted and was all out at only 112/10 in 19.4 overs due to great bowling by Sam Curran 5/10 (3,4), Ben Stokes 2/19 (4), Mark Wood 2/23 (4), Chris Woakes 1/24 (4). Ibrahim Zardan 32 (32), Usman Ghani 30 (30), and Najibullah Zardan 13 (11) were good batting from the Afghanistan side. After this inning, Afghanistan set a low target of 113 runs in 20 overs for England to win this match.

During chasing, England loses 5 wickets, reached the target of 113 runs in 18.1 overs, and won the match by 5 wickets with Afghanistan due to good batting by Liam Livingstone 29* (21), Alex Hales 19 (20), and Jos Butler 18 (18). Mohammad Nabi 1/16 (3), Rashid Khan 1/17 (4), Mujeeb-ur-Rahman 1/22 (4), Fazalhaq Farooqui 1/24 (4), and Fareed Ahmad 1/23 (2) were good bowling from the Afghanistan side.

Sam Curran (ENG), 5/10 (3.4), was declared as the Player of the Match due to his great performance in bowling.
