Vinesh Phogat creates history and become the first Indian Woman to win two medals in the World Wrestling Championships 2022

It’s a proud moment for our country that Indian wrestler, Vinesh Phogat creates history and won the bronze medal in the World Wrestling Championships 2022 in Belgrade. She defeated Jonna Malmgren of Sweden by 8-0 in the women’s 53 kg freestyle at the World Wrestling Championships 2022. After winning this medal, she becomes the first Indian Woman to win two medals at the World Wrestling Championships 2022.

Earlier, Vinesh Phogat won the bronze medal in the women’s 53kg at the World Wrestling Championships 2019 in Nur Sultan.  Vinesh Phogat also became the second Indian wrestler to win three consecutive gold medals at the commonwealth games that’s is a great achievement after Sushil Kumar.

Vinesh Phogat also won the gold medal in the women’s 50kg freestyle at the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia. She also won the gold medal in the women’s 53kg at the Asian Championships 2021 Almaty in Kazakhstan.
