In the third match of Super 4, Sri Lanka won the match by 6 wickets with India due to great performance in bowling and batting. After winning this match, Sri Lanka almost reached the final of the Asia Cup 2022 by winning two consecutive matches against Afghanistan and India in the Super 4. Previously, Sri Lanka won the first match by 4 wickets with Afghanistan in the Super 4 of the Asia Cup 2022.

Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bowl first thus India first batted and made a good score of 173/8 in 20 overs due to good batting by Rohit Sharma 72 (41), Surya Kumar Yadav 34 (29), and Hardik Pandya 17 (13). Dilshan Madushanka 3/24 (4), Dasun Shanaka 2/26 (2), Chamika Karunaratne 2/27 (4), and Maheesh Theekshana 1/29 (4) were good bowling from the Sri Lanka side. After this inning, India set a target of 174 runs in 20 overs for Sri Lanka to win this match.

During chasing, Sri Lanka loses 4 wickets, reached the target of 174 runs in 19.5 overs, and won the match by 6 wickets with India due to great batting by Kusal Mendis 57 (37), Pathum Nissanka 52 (37), Dasun Shanaka 33* (18), and Bhanuka Rajpaksa 25 (17). Yuzvendra Chahal 3/34 (4), and Ravichandran Ashwin 1/32 (4) were good bowling from the India side.

Dasun Shanaka 2/26 (2) & 33* (18), was declared as the Player of the Match due to good performance in bowling and batting.
