World Letter Writing Day 2022

Introduction – World Letter Writing Day is celebrated every year on September 1 across the world to encourage the importance of letter writing and to promote individuals to write more letters. Letter writing is one of the powerful tools that may help in making friendships, relationships, and partnerships with another person. It can also help in improving communication skills. In past, it can be a joyful moment for those individuals who received a letter from loved ones so letter writing also has a positive effect on the receiver’s life. This international day provides an opportunity for starting out and making a commitment to write more letters in the future.

History – Australian artist, photographer, and author, Richard Simpkin established World Letter Writing Day for tributing to the excitement and joy that he felt when a hand-written letter would reach the mailbox. Richard Simpkin started writing to everyone and he was considered to be an Australian Legend and also receives their replies. The great experience of Richard in writing a letter to individuals that made it possible for him to publish the book namely ‘’Australian Legends’’ He paid a tribute to the art of writing letters in his book. Thus, he created the World Letter Writing Day in the year 2014 to honor handwritten letters or writing letters to your loved ones,

Significance – You can celebrate this international day by writing a letter to your loved ones with receiving their responses. In past, couples wrote love letters to their lovely partners before marriage which helps in making a strong relationship. Thus, writing letters also helps in making relationships with your loved ones. Previously, when any person received a letter from their loved ones then he felt very happy and replied a letter to their lovely family members. So, the main aim of World Letter Writing Day is to promote letter writing among common people across the world which helps in improving communication skills and making a good relationship with their friends and family members.
