Vinesh Phogat won the Gold Medal in Wrestling at the Commonwealth Games 2022

It’s a very proud moment for our country that Indian wrestler, Vinesh Phogat won the gold medal in wrestling at the commonwealth games 2022 in Birmingham. She won the gold by defeating Chamodya Keshani of Sri Lanka by fall in only 2 minutes in the women’s 53kg freestyle at the ongoing commonwealth games 2022. After winning this gold medal, Vinesh Phogat became the second Indian wrestler to win three consecutive gold medals in the commonwealth games after Sushil Kumar.

Earlier, Vinesh Phogat won the gold medal in the women’s 48kg freestyle at the commonwealth games 2014 Glasgow in Scotland. In past, she also won the gold medal in the women’s 50kg freestyle at the commonwealth games 2018, Gold Coast in Australia. She also won the gold medal in the women’s 50kg freestyle at the Asian Games 2018, Jakarta in Indonesia.
