Deepak Punia won the Gold Medal in Wrestling in the Commonwealth Games 2022

It’s a very proud moment for our country that Indian wrestler Deepak Punia won the gold medal for India in wrestling at the commonwealth games 2022. He won the gold medal by defeating Muhammad Inam of Pakistan (3-0) in the men’s 86kg freestyle final match at the commonwealth games 2022 in Birmingham. This is the fourth medal including three gold and one silver in the commonwealth games 2022.

Earlier, Deepak Punia won the gold medal in the men’s 86kg freestyle at the World Junior Wrestling Championships 2019 in Tallinn. He also won the silver medal in the men’s 86kg freestyle at the World Junior Wrestling Championships 2018 in Tmava, Serbia. He also won the silver medal in the men’s 86kg at the World Championships 2019 in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.
