In the first inning, Sri Lanka was all out at 109/10 due to great bowled by Jasprit Bumrah 5/24 (10), Mohammed Shami 2/18 (6), Ravichandran Ashwin 2/30 (8.5), and Aksar Patel 1/21 (5.0). Angelo Mathews 43 (85), and Niroshan Dickwella 21 (38) were good batting from the Sri Lanka side. After the first inning, India leads by 143 runs against Sri Lanka.
India made a good score of 303/9d in the second inning due to great innings by Shreyas Iyer 67 (87), Rishabh Pant 50 (31), Rohit Sharma 46 (79), and Hanuma Vihari 35 (79). After the second inning, India set a target of 446 runs against Sri Lanka to win the second or last test match.
Sri Lanka was again all out at 208/10 in the second inning and lose this match by 238 runs with India due to great bowled by Ravichandran Ashwin 4/55 (19.3), Jasprit Bumrah 3/23 (9), Axar Patel 2/37 (11), and Ravindra Jadeja 1/48 (14.0). Both Dimuth Karunaratne 107 (174), and Kusal Mendis 54 (60), were good batting from the Sri Lanka side.
Due to great performance in batting, Shreyas Iyer (IND) 92 & 67, was declared as the Player of the Match.
Rishabh Pant (IND) was declared as the Player of the Series due to his great performance in the whole series.
