Legendary and most popular singer, Lata Mangeshkar died at an age of 92 due to a multi-organ failure on Sunday morning at 8:13 am in Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai. She was also known as the ‘Queen of Melody’ and the ‘Nightmare of India’.
Earlier she was tested positive for Covid-19 with mild symptoms on January 9 which was undergoing treatment at the hospital in Mumbai. After that, she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Last week, she was showing improvement but her health deteriorated, and was back to ventilator support on Saturday morning. The legendary singer was recovered from pneumonia and Covid-19 on January 30.
In past, she was admitted to the same hospital due to a problem in breathing in November 2019 was diagnosed with pneumonia, and was discharged after 28 days.
In the year 1942, She has started her career at an age of 13 and had sung about 30,000 songs in different Indian languages. The first breakthrough of Lata Mangeshkar in the song ‘Dil Mera Toda’ for the movie Majboor in the year 1948. She has increased popularity in the song ‘Aaayega Aaanewala’ in the movie Mahal. The last song of Lata Mangeshkar was ‘Saugandh Mujhe Is Mitti Ki’ which was released on Match 30, 2021.
In the year 2001, Lata Mangeshkar was awarded the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian honor. She was also received several other awards including Dada Saheb Phalke Award, Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, and many other National Film Awards.
