In the 40^th match of ICC T20 World Cup 2021, New Zealand won the match by 8 wickets with Afghanistan due to great performance in bowling and batting.

Earlier Afghanistan won the toss and chose to bat first and made a low score of 124/8 (20) due to great bowled by Trent Boult 3/17 (4), Tim Southee 2/24 (4), and Ish Sodhi 1/13 (2). There is only Najibullah Zardan 73 (48) was batted well from the Afghanistan side.

During chasing, New Zealand loses two wickets and won the match by 8 wickets with Afghanistan due to good batted by Kane Williamson 40* (42), Devon Conway 36* (32), and Martin Guptill 28 (23). Rashid Khan 1/27 (4), Mujeeb Ur Rahman 1/31 (4) were good bowled from the Afghanistan side. After winning this match, New Zealand was placed in the second position in group 2 with 8 points and qualified for the semifinal in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
