In the 8th match of ICC T20 World Cup 2021, Sri Lanka won the match by 70 runs with Ireland due to good performance in batting and bowling.
Earlier Ireland won the toss and chose to bowl first thus Sri Lanka batted and loses early 3 wickets in only 8 runs in 1.4 overs. But due to great batted by Wanindu Hasaranga 71 (47), Pathlum Nissanka 61 (47), Sri Lanka made a good score of 171/7 (20). Dasun Shanaka 21* (11) was also good batted in the last overs. Joshua Little 4/23 (4), Mark Adair 2/35 (4), and Paul Stirling 1/4 (1).
Due to losing early several wickets, Ireland was all out at 101 (18.3) and lost this match by 70 runs with Sri Lanka due to great bowled by Maheesh Theekshana 3/17 (4), Lahiru Kumara 2/22 (4), Chamika Karunaratne 2/27 (3.3). Andrew Balbirnie 41 (39), and Curtis Campher 24 (28) were good batted from the Ireland side.
Wanindu Hasaranga (SL) 71 (47) & 1/12 (4), was declared as the Player of the Match due to great performance in batting and bowling.
