Introduction – World Teachers Day is also called International Teachers Day is observed on October 5 every year to resolve the problems faced by teachers. A teacher is a very important part of society that educates and prepares people for the future. It concentrates on assessment, appreciation, and changes required for teachers.

This day provides an opportunity to honor teachers for their contribution to students and community development. The teacher plays an important role in the success of every person. Thus, we honor the contributions of our teachers that change our life on this day.

History – In the year 1994, United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) introduced this day to honor the contributions of teachers that play an important role in the development of each person worldwide. World Teacher’s Day is celebrated to honors the anniversary of (International Labor Organization) ILO/ UNESCO adopted the recommendations that concern about the status of teachers in the year 1966.  In the year 1997, the recommendation regarding the status of Higher-Education Teaching Personnel was adopted to complement the Recommendation that was approved in the year 1966. Since 1994, World Teacher’s Day is observed.

Theme – The theme of World Teacher’s Day in the year 2021 is ‘’Teachers at the heart of education recovery’’. Due to Covid-19 Pandemic, all the events will be held online this year. This theme honors or remembers the best effort of the teachers during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Significance – Teachers play an important role in the success of each person that are the backbone of the society. This day provides an opportunity to know the challenges or difficulties that are related to the profession of teaching. It gives them time to celebrate the profession of teaching all around the world and try to resolve the problems of teachers.

This occasion promotes the issues that are related to the profession of teaching and recognizes the protect the basic rights of teachers. On this day, we also offer red roses to teachers for their contribution to our lives by helping in becoming  a successful people.
