World Day for International Justice 2021

Introduction – World Day for International Justice is also known as International Criminal Justice Day or International Justice Day. This day supports justice and encourages the rights of the victims and helps in lowering crime, which threatens the security, well-being of the world, and peace.

History – World Day for International Justice will be celebrated on July 17 every year due to this day is the anniversary of the adoption of the Rome Statute in the year 1998. The International Criminal Court (ICC) was established on July 17 in The Hague, Netherlands with the help of this treaty.  There are about 139 countries that have signed the court’s treaty and about 80 States representative of every region all over the world have ratified in the year 1998.

Theme – The theme of World Day for International Justice 2021 is “A Call for Social Justice in the Digital Economy”. It indicates that during the modern age, criminals are gradually trusting on the advanced internet-based means instead of traditional criminal tactics.

Why this day celebrated – This day is celebrated due to it is essential for making common people aware and united to support justice and encourages the right of victims. It also attracts common people all over the world for paying attention to serious issues and protects people from several crimes. This day also warns those criminal individuals that affect the security, peace, and well-being of the nation at risk.

Events – There are several events all around the world are organized for promoting this day and also support the International Criminal Court (ICC). This day is encouraged by several newspapers, news channels, and radio. Some of the originations make people for paying attention to several particular issues such as genocide, violence against women, and many more.

So, this day will be celebrated on July 17 every year to mark the importance of the International Criminal Court (ICC) for the people and pay attention to serious crimes happening all over the world.
