Yellow Fungus: Symptoms, Causes, and Precautions

After black and white fungus infection, there is the first case of yellow fungus has been reported in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. As per sources, this patient is undergoing treatment in the ENT department of a local hospital in the city of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

There are no others states that have reported about yellow fungus infection. In past, the cases of black and white fungus were first reported two months ago and continuous increases in India.

Introduction – Yellow fungus infection grows internally which is more dangerous than white and black fungus. It is recommended to pursue early treatment in the case of any symptoms. As per the doctor, the yellow fungus is more fatal than black and white fungus infections due to it affects the internal organs.

Symptoms of Yellow Fungus – As per health experts, there are several symptoms of yellow fungus infection are as given below –

  • Weight loss
  • Lose appetite
  • Slow healing of wounds
  • Leakage of pus from wounds
  • Affects internal organ
  • Redness and sunken eyes

Causes of Yellow Fungus – This infection is mainly caused by unsanitary conditions including contaminated food, poor hygiene, and oxygen source. Antibacterial medications and overuse of steroids may also cause yellow fungus infection. Patients who are suffering from comorbidities or immunity suppressants can be at a greater risk of getting infected with yellow fungus infection.

There are several causes of yellow fungus infection are given below –

  • Uncontrolled diabetes
  • Low immunity
  • Contaminated environment
  • Overuse of steroid
  • Dirty or unhygienic surroundings
  • Unhygienic habits
  • Comorbidities

Precautions – Yellow fungus infection may arise due to high humidity, consumption of old food, and poor sanitation. Proper disposal of feces, avoid old food and many more may prevent the fungus from spreading. If there is high humidity in a closed space, office, or house then it must be not allowed to breach 30 to 40 percent. It is important to note that high moisture in the air allows the spread of fungus so proper ventilation is a must in your house or an office.

There are some precautions to protect themselves from the yellow fungus infection are as given below –

  • Keep your home, surroundings, and room clean
  • Proper ventilation of your room and home to reduce humidity because humidity encourages fungus growth.
  • Regular change bedsheets
  • Maintain hygiene level
  • Covid-19 patients should immediately start treatment thus, complications including yellow fungus infection do not develop.
  • Avoid or remove fecal matter and stale food instantly to prevent the growth of fungus.
