Now, the decline in the number of Covid-19 new cases but the death toll has not reduced in our country. India reported 223,601 fresh cases and 4,555 were dead due to Covid-19 on May 23, 2021. As per MoHFW, there is more than 3 lakh people were dead due to coronavirus when the pandemic started. India is the third country with more than 3 lakh deaths after the United States and Brazil and reported 1 lakh deaths in the past 26 days.

Tamil Nadu is the leading state with 35,483 new cases that are reported in the last 24 hours, which is followed by Maharashtra with 26,672 fresh cases, Karnataka 25,979 new cases, Kerala 25,820 new cases, Andhra Pradesh 18, 767 new cases, and West Bengal 18,422 new cases of Covid-19.

There are six most affected states with total number of cases such as Maharashtra (5,579,897), Karnataka (2,424,904), Kerala (2,31,911), Tamil Nadu (1,806,861), Uttar Pradesh (1,670,020), and Andhra Pradesh (1,580,827). Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh Governments extended their lockdown to prevent or reduce the number of Covid-19 cases.

Thus, we should take precautions to prevent or lower the number of coronavirus cases in our country are as given below –

• Wear mask
• Social distancing
• Avoid visiting crowded places including marriage ceremony, and gathering parties,
• Wash hand for 20 seconds with soap
• If you are suffering from fever, cough or any other problem then stay at home
• Do not touch your eyes, mouth, and nose if your hands are not clean.
• Should get vaccinated
