Importance of Social Media Websites for Marketing

Social Media Marketing  – 

It is the process of marketing for advertises the product by using social media websites including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Google+, and WhatsApp. Some multinational companies use the social websites for advertising  their products because there are thousands of customers uses social websites and the company contact easily with customers and promote their products.  The companies provide their progress report, products details with the help of social media for advertising their products such as smartphones, laptops, shoes, Motorcycles and cars for attracting the customers to their products.

There are several social websites which are discussed below in detail one by one

Facebook

Facebook is a social networking service and was introduced on February 4, 2004. It was made by Mark Zuckerberg, along with colleague Harvard College students and roommates, Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughes. Facebook was the most popular social networking site in all over the world. There are more than 1.86 billion users in December 31, 2016

Facebook

The company use Facebook and allows providing details, photos, and videos of products for advertising and also contact easily with customers due to thousands of customers uses Facebook.  The website also allows making the pages for products and easily linked with Twitter for advertising the products. The customers also easily contact with branded companies for details, query and commented on the products in which companies easily attended the problem of users and resolve them.

Twitter

Twitter is a social networking website that users allows post and interact with messages (tweets). It is made by Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone and Evan Williams in March 2006 and introduced in July 2006.

Like Facebook thousands of users uses Twitter and the company also use the twitter for promoting their products. Twitter also allows for advertising their products through text, photo, video, animated GIF or links. Many companies provide customer service for users through Twitter and share views with users about their products. The companies are also promoting their products through different offers by using this social website.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a professional website which is used by the professionals in different companies. The professional use their website by making their profiles and easily contact with managers in different companies.

The companies also contacts professionals in different companies to meet and grow their network of professionals. The companies also share their blogs for promoting their products. Many companies use LinkedIn for recruitment of professionals in their organisation for spread and good quality products.

WhatsApp

WhatsApp Messenger is a very popular social website in the world among youths which were created by Jan Koum and Brian Acton. It is a freeware, cross-platform and end-to-end encrypted instant messaging application service for smartphones. Now WhatsApp uses the internet for sending and receiving a variety of media including text, photos, videos, documents, and location, and voice calls. It also has a new feature of status in which uploaded photos and video for 24 hours. After 24 hours the uploaded photos and videos are automatically deleted. WhatsApp also joined Facebook in February 2014.

There are almost 1 billion users of WhatsApp in all over the world. The company uses this popular website for advertise their products globally and provide photo, video and specifications and price details of products share with users of WhatsApp.

Instagram

Instagram is a popular social website in which users allows sharing pictures and videos with the friends and relatives in the website and also share with other friends who uses social networking websites including Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Flickr. Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger introduces in October 2010 which is a free mobile app exclusively for the iOS mobile operating system.

The social website claims that it has crossed over 200 million users in May 2014. The user’s visit in the Instagram is higher than Facebook and Twitter so it is very useful for marketing. This social website allows the companies for easily connected with thousands of users active in the website. The company can communicate with their current and potential customers for promoting their products.

All the social media websites are interlinked with each other which provides a proper platform for us to connect with the products and share them..it also helps to see the reviews directly in the platform they are advertised in so that we can make a conscious decision! And from the point of view of the seller, having all the options of sharing in any format, be it jpeg, video, or gif like you mentioned, also helps a lot I’m sure. 🙂 🙂 Thanks again!

    Great post. Would be worth mentioning that Social Media sites are awareness channels not intent. So a lot of business expecting people to be ready to make a purchase are going to be disappointed by their results vs Google Ads. I’ve seen a lot of B2Bs seeing low conversion rates from social media and being put off. But in reality if they use it to drive awareness, they’ll get the desired results.
