It’s a very proud moment for our country that Indian athlete, Sawan Barwal scripted history and won the silver medal in the men’s marathon at the Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2016 in Japan. After winning the silver, India won 24 medals including 2 gold medals, 10 silver medals, and 12 bronze medals in the Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 in Japan.

Sawan Barwal was placed in the second position in the 42.195 km marathon race with the timing of 2:11. 37 seconds and won the historical silver medal in the men’s marathon at the Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 in Japan. After winning the medal, India won the medal after 44 years outside the country in the men’s marathon at the Asian Games. Firstly, Hosur Kukappa won the bronze medal in the men’s marathon at the Asian Games in New Delhi in the year 1982.

Ichitaka Yamashita of Japan won the gold medal with the timing of 2:10.49 seconds and Peiyou Feng of China won the bronze medal with the timing of 2:12.13 seconds in the men’s marathon at the Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 in Japan.
