Why do blind people wear dark glasses

There are several reasons of wearing dark glasses by blind people, which are discussed below-

  1. Blind people wear glasses to protect their eyes from physical dangers such as  hanging doors, branches, and windows of house. Glasses help them shield or protect against such physical hazards.
  2. It is notify other at a distance, public places, crowded places, and many more that he/she had no vision. In addition of wearing dark glasses, they also carry while cane.
  3. Several individuals lose vision due to injuries and eyes are disfigured. So blind people keep their eyes hidden from people around.
  4. Many blind individuals are not totally blind and have a very small field of vision that enables them to see in a narrow zone so special glasses help these people.
  5. Blind people wear dark glasses to block harmful ultraviolet radiations and bring down the intensity of ambient light. Prolonged exposure to ultraviolet rays may cause inflammation of cornea, ocular cancer, or cataracts.
  6. Some blind individuals wear dark glasses for beauty and looking smart because they are embarrassed for the physical look of their eyes.
