It’s a very heartbreaking, shocking, and sad news that Barbadian cricketer, Sir Gary Sobers died at the age of 89 in Barabados on July 17 in the year 2026. Sir Gary Sobers is also called as Sir Garfield St. Aubrun Sobers or Sir Gary, who was a Barbados cricketer and played for the West Indies team from 1954 to 1974. Sir Gary was a best bowler, aggressive or good batsman, and superb fielder, so he is widely the best all-rounder and cricketer in the world.

Sir Gary Sobers was born in Bridgetown in Barabados on July 28 in the year 1936, who debut his first class cricket for the Barabados team at an only age of 16 in the year 1953 and his debut in the test match for the West Indies team in the same year. He was started as a career as a bowler and was soon promoted as a batter. Sobers made his first maiden century in the test match as 365 runs not out  against Pakistan in the year 1958. It’s a new record of Sir Gary Sobers for the highest individual score in an innings in the test match against Pakistan in the year 1958 but his record was broken by the great batter, Brian Lara scored 375 runs against England in the year 1994.

Later, Sir Gary Sobers became captain of the West Indies in the year 1965 upro 1972 and also became captain of the Rest of the World XI in the tour of England. He played 93 test matches, made 8032 runs with average 57.78 and also take 235 wickets at an average of 34.03 for the West Indies. He played around 383 first class matches and scored about 28,000 runs with 1000 wickets. Sir Gary Sobers was honored or knighted by Queen Elizabeth for his great performance in batting and bowling in the year 1975. He was also honored or named as the 11 National Heroes of Barabados in the year 1998 and also launched or introduced into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in the year 2009.
