The generational split you’ve laid out is a good observation – stomach ache to get out of school eventually becomes traffic jam to get out of the office. Same instinct, just a more respectable vocabulary. The sasural one made me smile, mainly because it works precisely because nobody can safely interrogate it. Ours are still firmly in the classic phase: our youngest was far too unwell for school last week and staged a full recovery at roughly 9:15am.
