RIP Ajit Pawar Sir

Its very heartbreaking, shocking, unbelievable, and sad new that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar died at the age of 66 due to plane crash on January 28 in the year 2026 in Baramati in the state of Maharashtra. Ajit Pawar belonged to the Nationalist Congress Party and was presently the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra along with Eknath Shinde under the Chief Minister of Devendra Fadnavis from December 2024 until his death on January 28 in the year 2026. Ajit Pawar was the longest Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra under the governments of Uddhav Thackeray, Prithviraj Chavan, Eknath Shinde and presently Devendra Fadnavis. He represented the Lok Sabha Constituency Baramati in the year 1991 and also worked as the Leader of the Opposition between 2022 and 2023 in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

Ajit Pawar was born in Deolali Pravara in the district of Ahmednagar, was the son of Anantarao Pawar and Ashalata Pawar, and also the nephew of Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Sharad Pawar. In his personal life, He married to Sunetra Pawar, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from the state of Maharashtra with two sons, Parth and Jay Pawar. In his political career, he was firstly elected or won the election from the Baramati Lok Sabha Constituency in the year 1991. He was also worked as the Defence Minister under the Prime Minister, P.V. Narasimha Rao. After that, he won tie election 7 times or elected as the Member of Legislative Assembly of Maharashtra from the Baramati Constituency in the state of Maharashtra.

 Ajit Pawar also worked as the Minister of State for Agriculture and Power between 1991 and 1992 under the Chief Minister of Sudhakarrao Naik. Ajit Pawar also worked as the Minister of State for Soil Conservation, Power, and Planning in the year 1992 under the Chief Minister of Sharad Pawar of Maharashtra. He also became as the Minister of Irrigation Department in the NCP Congress coalition government in the year 1999. He came up with the BJP Government and became the deputy Chief minister on November 21 in the year 2019 and later he resigned from the deputy Chief minister during the government of Devendra Fadnavis and back to the NCP lead by Sharad Pawar after 80 hours. After that, He became again the deputy chief minister in the government of Maha Vikas Aghadi on December 1 in the year 2019.

The Uddhav Thackeray Government collapsed due to the split in the Shiv Sena Party in the year 2022, BJP formed the government and Eknath Shinde became the chief minister of Maharashtra and Ajit Pawar became the Leader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly., He became 6 times deputy chief minister of Maharashtra in several chief ministers of Maharashtra.

Ajit Pawar was one of the great leaders in the state of Maharashtra.
