It’s a very heartbreaking, shocking, and very sad news that Indian actor, Govardhan Asrani  died at the age of 84 on October 20, 2025. due to a long illmess in Mumbai, in the state of Maharashtra. Earlier, Asrani was admitted due to breathing issues in hospital. He was died at 3 pm in hospital due to a fluid accumulation in his lungs.

The real name of Asrani is Govardhan Asrani was an Indian actor and director, and was popular for the best role of jailer in the blockbuster movie Sholay with Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra, which was released in the year 1975. He was a great comedian and actor in several popular movies. He worked in several other movies including Aap ki Kasam, Abhiman, Bawarchi, Namak Haraam, Bidaai, Chupke Chupke, Kalabaaz, Salaam Memsaab, The Burning Train, Ek Hi Bhool, Nikaah, Dulhe Raja, International Khildi, Hero Hindustani, and many more movies.

In the early life, Govardhan Asrani was born on January 1, 1941 in the middle class Sindhi family and belongs to Jaipur. In his family, he has three brothers and four sisters and married to Manju Bansal who is also actress and fell love while working together in several movies including Namak Haram and Aaj ki Taaza Khabar. After marrying with Manju Bansal, both Asrani and Manju Bansal worked in many movies including Jurmana, Chor Sipahee, Taoasya, and  Sarkari Mehmaan. Asrani won the Filmfare Award for the best comedian acting or role of Amit Desai and  Champak Boomia and his wife Manju Bansal played the role of Kesar Desai in the movie Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar. After that, Asrani and his wife Manju Bansal worked in the movie Hum Nahin Sudhrenge, which was directed by Asrani in the year 1980.
