World No Tobacco Day 2025

World No Tobacco Day will be celebrated every year on May 31 to spread awareness about the harmful or dangerous effects of smoking tobacco on the human body and the need to lower tobacco consumption worldwide This International Day provides an opportunity to encourage young individuals to avoid or quit smoking and avoid or lower the risk of several severe diseases including cancers. This International Day is celebrated by the World Health Organization (WHO) to spread awareness about the adverse effects of tobacco, which is also dangerous for your health. The main goal of this international day is to emphasize international attention to the harmful or negative effects of tobacco worldwide.

World No Tobacco Day was created by the World Health Organization (WHO) in the year 1987 to share information about the dangerous effects of chewing tobacco on our health. . Firstly, this international is celebrated on April 7, 1988, which marks or celebrate or honor the 40th anniversary of the World Health Organization (WHO) and after that the date was changed to May 31 to celebrate World No Tobacco Day.  The main purpose of this Global Day is to reduce the number of deaths, which may be caused by tobacco consumption and to promote policies that can support a smoke-free world. This international day also educates common people about the negative impacts of using tobacco and also highlights the importance of quitting tobacco. It also encourages young individuals, governments, and organizations to take action against the use of tobacco and lower the risk of several cancers.

Tobacco is a poisonous weed that contains nicotine, which is the main poison and is very harmful to your health. Smoking tobacco increases the risk of several cancers such as bladder cancer, pancreatic cancer, lung cancer, liver cancer, and many more. Smoking tobacco also enhances the risk of heart stroke and attack. It also weakens the immune system of the human body and makes them more vulnerable to many other infectious diseases. Tobacco contains carbon monoxide, nicotine, and hydrogen cyanide which are harmful to your health. Smoking tobacco also harms the reproductive system of women so it makes it more difficult to get pregnant because tobacco cigarettes may negatively affect hormone levels. It also enhances the risk of cataracts in one or both eyes and age-related macular degeneration in common people worldwide.
