Lohri 2025

Lohri is a popular Punjabi folk festival, which is celebrated mainly in the North Indian states among Sikhs and Hindus. It will be celebrated on January 13 every year across India with great happiness and celebrations . It indicates the beginning of harvest season and the ripening of winter crops. Lohri is also called as Lohadi and is a time for praying to the God of Fire for blessings for their close family members and loved ones.

Lohri is also celebrated for the arrival of warmer winters and after this festival, the nights get shorter and the days are very long. This festival marks the end of the winter season and is celebrated the night before Maghi or Makar Sankranti.

On this day, Individuals offer prayer and perform Parikrama around the bonfire with their family members and friends. Lohri is also celebrated by performing Punjab’s popular folk dance, and also dance to dhol beats across the country.
