The main goal of this global day is to honor the responsibilities, contributions, and great achievements of male individuals for their families and societies all over the world.

History – In the past, Thomas Oaster was the creator of International Men’s Day in the year 1992. After that, a history lecturer or professor at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Jerome Teelucksingh introduced International Men’s Day on November 19, 1999, to honor of his father’s birthday. He encourages individuals to use this global day to solve difficulties or issues that affect male individuals and boys across the world. Dr. Jerome claimed that this global day provides an opportunity to consider issues or difficulties of men worldwide.

Theme – The theme of International Men’s Day in the year 2024 is “Positive Male Role Models” which emphasizes the important role of male individuals as son, brother, husband, and father in their families. Earlier, the theme of International Men’s Day is ‘’Zero Male Suicide”’ which highlights the importance of male individuals for managing their health. The theme also talks about to help in solving the issues of men to lower or prevent the suicides of male people across the world. The main aim of this international day is to honor or celebrate the contribution and achievement of all male individuals as husbands, sons, brothers, fathers, friends, and many more.

Significance – This international day provides an opportunity to celebrate and recognize the positive contributions of male individuals to society and highlight the importance of their happiness. It is an important platform to address difficulties, which affect the mental health of male individuals and encourage positive male role models. Presently, there are several problems for male individuals such as unemployment, false allegations by women or girlfriends, or wives, financial issues, and many more. The main aim of International Men’s Day is to encourage male people to become excellent role models by recognizing the positive contributions of men to make their society families, and communities.
