Introduction – World Sandwich Day is celebrated every year on November 3 across the world to honor this delicious food. This international day is filled with joy, food, and fun. Individuals celebrate this international day by taking or enjoying different types of sandwiches and experimenting with several textures and flavors. Most Individuals like to have a sandwich for breakfast before going to the office or lunch during work.
History – The sandwich was invented by John Montagu, the 4th Earl in the year 1762. John Montagu was a gambler, busy in playing cards, and did not have time to sit down for taking meal in the lunch and dinner. Thus, he asked to serve a roast beef is placed between two slices of bread that allowing John to have one hand to take a sandwich and another hand free to continue the game so the sandwich was invented or born at that time. Later, John Montagu is credited with popularizing or promoting the sandwich across the world.
Significance – The sandwich is simple delicious food and easy to make in minutes during breakfast and also lunch at the office and school. It is available in several flavors and types with vegetables, eggs, and chicken. Thus, the sandwich is vegetarian and non-vegetarian and is available at the restaurant as per choice of customers. If you are very hungry and busy at work then it is easy to make a sandwich in less time and take a sandwich with great taste. The main aim of this international day is to spread awareness about the history and cultural significance of a sandwich. Most of the people including children and adults like sandwiches and make or take any time.

I eat at least one sandwich a day. I think the 4th Earl of Sandwich would be happy to know that the humble sandwich has played such a great part in ensuring that the poorest in the United Kingdom have been able to feed their children with humble sandwiches at lunchtime for generation.
