In the thriller match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), RCB won the match by 27 runs with CSK due to great performance in batting and bowling. After winning this match, RCB was placed in the 4th position with 14 points and qualified for the Playoffs of the IPL 2024 due to better run rate as compared with CSK. CSK was placed in the 5th position with 14 points and not qualified for Playoffs of the IPL 2024 after losing this match.

Earlier, CSK won the toss and chose to bowl first thus RCB first batted and made a huge score of 218/5 in 20 overs due to great batting by Faf du Plessis 54 (39), Virat Kohli 47 (29), and Rajat Patidar 41 (23). Shardul Thakur 2/61 (4), Mitchell Santner 1/23 (4), and Tushar Deshpande 1/49 (4) were wicket-taker bowlers from the CSK side. After this inning, RCB set a huge target of 219 runs in 20 overs for CSK to win this match

During chasing, CSK scored 191/7 in 20 overs and lost the match by 27 runs with RCB due to great bowling by Yash Dayal 2/42 (4), Cameron Green 1/18 (2), and Glenn Maxwell 1/25 (4). Rachin Ravindra 61 (37), Ravindra Jadeja 42* (22), and Ajinkya Rahane 33 (22) were good batting from the CSK side.

Faf du Plessis (RCB)0,  54 (39) was declared as the Player of the Match due to great performance in batting.
