Third or Last Ashra of Ramadan – Nijat (Free From Hellfire)

Ramadan – It is also called as Ramzan and is the ninth month of the Hijri or Islamic calendar which is considered as the most pious month for Muslims all over the world. Muslims observe fast from early morning to evening in the holy month of Ramadan across the world. Fasting means nothing to eat and drink and avoiding wrongdoing or bad habits even talking bad and is farz (obligatory) for all adult Muslims worldwide. The meal taken in the early morning or before fajr namaz (prayer) is called Sehri and the evening breaking fast is called am Iftar at Magrib namaz (prayer) Muslims believe that the Quran was first revealed to Prophet Mohammad in the holy month of Ramadan.

Third or Last Ashra of Ramadan – The last Ashra of the holy month of Ramadan is Nijat (free from hellfire) may start on the 21st day of Ramzan and end on the 29th or 30th day of Ramzan. The third or last Ashra is the most important in the holy month of Ramadan due to the occurrence of the last Friday or Juma (Jumatul-Vida), and Layla Tul Qadr or Shab-e-Qadr.  The holiest night in the holy month of Ramadan is called as ‘’Layla Tul Qadr’’. Muslim believes that Layla Tul Qadr is regarded as a better night than nights of thousand months.  It is believed that Shab-e-Qadr night occurs on the odd nights of this Ashra may be the 21st, 23rd, 27th or 29th of Ramadan.

 During Layla Tul Qadr Muslims pray the whole night on these days for Nijat who is seeking refuge from Hellfire in the last or third Ashra of Ramadan. It also allows for all the devotees to be saved from the Hellfire in the third or last Ashra of Ramzan. a Muslim is also blessed with a night (Laila-tul-Qadr) that is better than a thousand months in the holy month of Ramadan. Juma Alvida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan is also celebrated in the third or last Ashra of Ramadan.
