Happy Independence Day 2023

India will mark the 77th year of Independence Day on August 15, 2023, Tuesday. Our country gained freedom from British rule on August 15, 1947, which reminds the sacrifices of our freedom fighters for the independence of India and this day is celebrated as a national holiday all over the country. I am very excited to celebrate Independence Day.

Our country will be celebrating the 77th Independence Day on August 15, 2023 that marks its freedom from the British rule. Indian Government has organized several events under ‘’Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’’ with the theme ‘’Nation First, Always First’’. The Government of India also launched a new initiative ‘’Har Ghar Tiranga’’ campaign to celebrate the 77th Independence Day.

On this day, the people of our country honor the sacrifices of our freedom fighters for independence by hoisting the national flag with singing the national anthem. Firstly, the President of India delivers “The Address to the Nation” before Independence Day in the evening.  The Prime Minister of India hoists the National Flag and delivers a speech to the Nation at the Red Fort in New Delhi.  It is a guiding speech for the people of the Nation. There are many programs are organizing in schools and colleges on this day.

All the capitals of states of our country also celebrate Independence Day on this occasion. On this day, all the Chief Ministers or Governors deliver speeches from the State Capitals all over the country and hoist the flags with several programs organized by school students. In the evening all the State Buildings in the Capital are illuminated with electric bulbs on Independence Day. It is a very beautiful scene. On this day, several programs are organizing in all schools and government offices with hoists the flags in all over the country. The festival teaches us to be a patriot.

We should take a pledge to be faithful, loyal, and devoted to our country on this day. We should be always ready to sacrifice everything for our country.

I am proud to be an Indian citizen.

Jai Hind
