Usman Khwaja 81 (125), Peter Handscomb 72* (142), and Pat Cummins 33 (59) were good batting from the Australian side.

In the first inning, India was all out at 262 runs due to great bowling by Nathan Lyon 5/67 (29), Todd Murphy 2/53 (18), Matthew Kuhnemann 2/72 (21.3), and Pat Cummins 1/41 (13.0). Axar Patel 74 (115), Virat Kohli 44 (84), Ravichandran Ashwin 37 (71), and Ravindra Jadeja 26 (74) were good batting from the Indian side. After this inning, Australia leads by only 1 run against India in the first inning.

During the second inning, Australia was all out at only 113 runs due to great bowling by Ravindra Jadeja 7/42 (12.1), and Ravichandran Ashwin 3/59 (16). Travis Head 43 (46), and  Mamus Labuschagne 35 (50) were good batting from the Australian side. After this inning, Australia set a target of 115 runs for India to win the second test match.

Finally, India chased the target of 115 runs in 4 wickets successfully in the second inning and won the match by 6 wickets with Australia due to good batting by Rohit Sharma 31 (20), Cheteshwar Pujara 31* (74), Srikar Bharat 23* (22), and Virat Kohli 20 (31). Nathan Lyon 2/49 (12), and Todd Murphy 1/22 (6.4) were good bowling from the Australian side.

Ravindra Jadeja (IND) 3/68 & 26 & 7/42, was declared as the Player of the Match due to his great performance in bowling and batting.
