England won the match by 20 runs with New Zealand

In the 33rd match of the T20 World Cup 2022, England won the match by 20 runs with New Zealand due to great performance in batting and bowling. After winning this match, England was placed in the second position with 5 points and a better run rate as compared with Australia. New Zealand was still placed at the top position with 5 points and a better run rate as compared with England after losing this match.

Earlier, England won the toss and chose to bat first and made a huge score of 179/6 in 20 overs due to good batting by Jos Butler 73 (47), Alex Hales 52 (40), and Liam Livingstone 20 (14). Lockie Ferguson 2/45 (4), Ish Sodhi 1/23 (4), Mitchell Santher 1/25 (4), and Tim Southee 1/43 (4) were good bowling from the New Zealand side. After this inning, England set a huge target of 180 runs in 20 overs for New Zealand to win this match.

During chasing, New Zealand scored 159/6 in 20 overs and lose this match by 20 runs with England due to good bowling by Sam Curran 2/26 (4), Chris Woakes 2/33 (4), Ben Stokes 1/10 (1), and Mark Wood 1/25 (3). Glenn Philips 62 (36), Kane Williams 40 (40), and Mitchell Santner 16* (10) were good batting from the New Zealand side.

Jos Butler (ENG), 73 (47), was declared as the Player of the Match due to his great performance in batting.
