New Zealand won the match by 65 runs with Sri Lanka

In the 15th match of the Super 12 in the T20 World Cup 2022, New Zealand won the match by 65 runs with Sri Lanka due to a great century by Glenn Philips 104 (64), and good bowling by Trent Boult 4/13 (4). After winning this match, New Zealand was placed at the top position with a maximum of 5 points. Sri Lanka was placed in the 5th position with 2 points after losing this match.

Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and chose to bat first and made a challengeable score of 167/7 in 20 overs due to great batting by Glenn Philips 104 (64), Daryl Mitchell 22 (24), and Mitchell Santner 11* (5). Kasun Rajitha 2/23 (4), Dhananjaya de Silva 1/14 (2), Wanindu Hasaranga 1/22 (4), Lahiru Kumara 1/37 (3), and Maheesh Theekshana 1/35 (4) were good bowling from the Sri Lanka side. After this inning, New Zealand set a good target of 168 runs in 20 overs for Sri Lanka to win this match.

During chasing, Sri Lanka was all out at only 102 runs in 19.2 overs, and lose this match by 65 runs with New Zealand due to great bowling by Trent Boult 4/13 (4), Mitchell Santner 2/21 (4), Ish Sodhi 2/22 (3.2), Lockie Ferguson 1/35 (4), and Tim Southee 1/12 (4).  Dasun Shanaka 35 (32), Bhanuka Rajapaksa 34 (22), and Kasun Rajitha 8* (21) were good batting from the Sri Lanka side.

Glenn Philips (NZ), 104 (64), was declared as the Player of the Match due to his great performance in batting.
