Earlier, India won the toss and chose to bowl first thus Pakistan first batted and was all out at 147 runs in 19.5 overs due to great bowling by Bhuvneshwar Kumar 4/26 (4), Hardik Pandya 3/25 (4), Arshdeep Singh 2/33 (3.5), and Avesh Khan 1/19 (2). Mohammad Rizwan 43 (42), Iftikhar Ahmed 28 (22), and Shahnawaz Dahani 16 (6) were good batting from the Pakistan side. After this inning, Pakistan set a target of 148 runs in 20 overs for India to win the thriller match of the Asia Cup.

During chasing, India loses 5 wickets, chased the target of 148 runs in 19.4 overs, and won the match by 5 wickets with Pakistan due to great batting by Ravindra Jadeja 35 (29), Virat Kohli 35 (34), and Hardik Pandya 33* (17). Both Mohammad Nawaz 3/33 (3.4) and Naseem Shah 2/27 (4) were good bowling from the Pakistan side.

Hardik Pandya (IND) 3/25 (4) & 33* (17), was declared as the Player of the Match due to his great performance in batting and bowling.
