It’s a very proud moment for our country that Indian wrestler, Antim Panghal created history and becomes the first Indian woman wrestler champion in the Under-20-World Wrestling Championships that took place in Sofia, Bulgaria. She won the gold medal by winning the match in the women’s 53kg category final with Atlyn Shagayeva of Kazakhistan (8-0) on August 19, 2022.

Antim Pangha becomes the first-ever U-20 world champion in wrestling after winning this match. She belongs to Bhagana village in the Hisar district in the state of Haryana. Earlier, she won the match with German Amery Olivia 11-0 with technical superiority. She won another match with Ayaka Kimura of Japan by fall to reach a semi-final match. Antim Panghal won the semi-final match with Natalia Klivchutska of Ukraine 11-2 and reach the final.
In past, Antim Panghal won the gold medal in the Asian Junior Championships in the year 2022 and also won the bronze medal at the Cadet World Championships in the year 2021. She also won a silver medal in the U 23 Asian Championships in the year 2022.
