Sharath Kamal and Sreeja Akula won the Historic Gold Medal in the Mixed Doubles in table tennis at the commonwealth games 2022

It’s a very proud moment for our country that Indian table tennis players, Sharath Kamal and Sreeja Akula won the first gold medal in the mixed doubles in table tennis at the commonwealth games 2022 in Birmingham.

Sharath Kamal and Sreeja Akula defeated Javen Choong and Karen Lyne of Malaysia by 3-1 (11-4, 9-11, 11-5, 11-6 and won the historic gold medal in the mixed double in table tennis at the commonwealth games 2022. This is the 18th gold medal for India in the commonwealth games 2022 in Birmingham. After winning the 18th gold medal, India ranks in the top 5 countries as per the commonwealth games medals tally 2022.

Earlier, Sharath Kamal and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran won the silver medal by losing the final match with Paul Drinkhall and Liam Pitchford of England in the men’s double event at the commonwealth games 2022.
